Ruger County Community Roleplaying Rules

Realistic Family Roleplay Sim
  • Core Roleplay Expectations,

This is a realistic roleplay (RP) environment. All actions, reactions, and scenarios must reflect real-life behavior and consequences.
No superhuman abilities, unrealistic injuries, or “main character” immunity.
You must roleplay fear, pain, and consequences appropriately.
“Winning” is not the goal — storytelling is.

  • Age & Character Guidelines,

All characters must have a clearly defined age and role.
Child characters must be portrayed respectfully and realistically.
Adult themes involving minors are strictly prohibited.
Character backstories should remain believable.

  • Powergaming & Godmodding,

Powergaming is NOT allowed
(Forcing actions onto another player without giving them a chance to respond.)
Godmodding is NOT allowed
(Avoiding harm, controlling outcomes unfairly, or being unbeatable.)
Always allow the other person time and space to respond.

  • Metagaming,

Do NOT use information learned out of character (OOC) in roleplay.
Your character only knows what they have learned in RP.
No using outside communication to influence roleplay.

  • Fear Roleplay (FRP),

You must value your character’s life.
If your character is in danger, you must react realistically.
No acting fearless without valid reasoning.

  • New Life Rule (NLR),

If your character is killed or critically incapacitated:
You forget the situation leading up to it.
You may not return to the scene immediately.
Allow reasonable time before re-engaging.

  • Combat & Violence,

All violence must be roleplayed and justified.
Random acts of violence (RDM) are prohibited.
Conflict must build naturally — no instant escalation.

Injuries should have realistic, lasting effects.

  • Emergency Services Realism,

Law Enforcement, Fire, and Medical roles must follow realistic procedures.
No abuse of authority or unrealistic actions.
Scenes must be handled professionally and fairly.

  • RP Info Box Requirement,

RP Info boxes MUST be used when initiating major scenes.
This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Fires

  • Major accidents

  • Large-scale incidents

Example:
If you are starting a fire, you must use an RP Info box.

If an RP Info box is not used, the scene will be considered void.
Staff may reset or remove the scene (e.g., the fire will be returned/reset).

  • Communication Rules,

Keep IC (In Character) and OOC (Out of Character) separate.
Do not break immersion during active scenes.
Use proper channels for OOC concerns or issues.

  • Character Appearance Guidelines,

This is a realistic RP sim.
Furry avatars are prohibited.
Accessories such as tails, ears, or wings are allowed within reason, as long as:
They are small and subtle
They fit within realistic or wearable fashion
They are not oversized, fantasy-based, or distracting

If it is something you would not realistically wear in public, it does not belong in this sim.

  • Respect & Community Conduct,

Treat all players with respect.
No harassment, discrimination, or toxic behavior.
Keep conflict in-character, not personal.

  • Family & Lifestyle Roleplay,

This is a family-oriented community:
Encourage realistic relationships and interactions
Parenting RP must be appropriate and respectful
Focus on everyday life (jobs, school, events, community)

  • Business & Economy Roleplay,

Businesses must operate realistically.
No instant wealth or unrealistic success.
Proper roles and structure must be followed.

  • Scene Etiquette,

Do not interrupt active scenes without reason.
Respect ongoing RP and allow space for others.
Avoid low-effort responses during serious scenes.

  • Admin & Staff Authority,

Staff decisions are final.
Rule violations may result in:

  • Warnings

Removal from the scene
Temporary or permanent bans
Contact staff respectfully for concerns.

  • Final Rule,

If it wouldn’t happen in real life, it doesn’t happen here.
